Hardwood Floor Services

Hardwood Cleaning

Hardwood floors bring natural beauty into your home that you can't find with other flooring. The hardwood, after installation, is covered with a top coat to protect, shine and add depth to your floors.
This is where Protouch Floor Care comes in. Using a well-rounded understanding of wood floor care, we restore and maintain this topcoat by cleaning, stripping, and polishing it using commercial-grade equipment, and top coats. No cheap solutions or polishes are ever used.
Free In-home estimates are always offered for potential customers. Just press the book now button at the bottom of the page to send us a job request form. You can also email Protouchfloorcare1@gmail.com or call/text 503-975-5342 to schedule your estimate today.

Hardwood Cleaning

Cleaning

Using floor scrubbers and buffers, we can clean and buff your hardwood floors. This will remove dirt, oils, and other hard-to-remove stains on the topcoat.
This service includes dry soil removal, agitation, extraction, and the buffing of your hardwood floors.

Refinishing / Screen & Recoat

This is done by applying a high grade finish to the floor using a common method known as a screen and recoat. The process includes lightly sanding/screening the floor to create a good mechanical bond. Then after a good cleaning, the finish is applied in two even coats. You can decide the sheen. I have Matte, Satin, and Semi Gloss available. The screening part of this process will knock out scuffs and scratches in the floor as well.

Wax/Acrylic removal

Using floor scrubbers and emulsifiers, we can strip away wax, acrylics, and other cleaning products from your hardwood and engineered floors.
This can only be done with floors that have an excellent topcoat beneath or Recoating will need to be included with the service.

Wax/Acrylic removal

Step One

The floor is cleaned of all dry debris. This is done with brooms, and vacuums.
Step One

Step Two

The floor is carefully sprayed in 50-100ft sections with a wood floor cleaner set to the strength needed for your specific floors. Edges are scrubbed with hand tools, then the floor is agitated with a floor buffer or floor scrubber depending on severity. This breaks apart dirt, stains, oils, and wax in the topcoat making it easier to extract.
Step Two

Step Three

The agitated dirt, oils, and wax are removed using a floor scrubber or cloth bonnets. This ensures the floor is dried quickly and is ready to be Buffed, Recoated or Damp Mopped.
Step Three

Step Four

The floors are then ready for the final step. For "cleaning" the floors will be finished with a light damp mopping or buffing depending on the strength of the floors finish. For recoating the floors will then be screened then coated with a high end finish. For polishing a commercial grade polish is applied. And lastly for stripping the floor will be damp mopped or recoated depending on the condition of the top coat beneath stripped finish.
